We welcome Marie-Christine Levet, Founder & Partner Educapital for a raw conversation on the turning points in her life that got her to where she is now and what drives her to keep going.

Marie-Christine Levet, pionnière de l’internet français, est la présidente et co-fondatrice d’Educapital, le premier et le plus grand fonds européen d’impact en Edtech. Basé à Paris, ce fonds investit dans des start-ups innovantes de la fin du stade de démarrage jusqu’à la série B. L’accent est mis sur les entrepreneurs qui transforment l’avenir de l’éducation et du travail. Educapital gère deux fonds et a récemment annoncé la clôture définitive de son deuxième fonds à 150 millions de dollars. Educapital a investi dans 30 entreprises, dont Labster, 360 Learning, Preply, Fourthrer et Engageli.

Avant Educapital, Marie-Christine était fondatrice et PDG de grandes entreprises françaises de l’internet et des médias (fondatrice de Lycos, PDG de T-Online France). Après ces solides expériences entrepreneuriales, elle est passée au capital-risque pour apporter son expérience à de jeunes PDG. Elle a participé à la montée en puissance de Jaina Capital, l’un des premiers fonds d’entrepreneurs en France, investissant dans des start-ups au stade initial.

Convaincue par la nécessité et l’imminence de la transformation du secteur de l’éducation par l’innovation, Marie-Christine a créé Educapital en 2017 avec son partenaire Litzie Maarek. Marie-Christine Levet est diplômée de HEC et détient un MBA de l’INSEAD.

With a portfolio encompassing 30 companies such as Labster, 360 Learning, Preply, Fourthrer, and Engageli, Educapital stands at the forefront of fostering transformative ventures in the educational sector.

Prior to her role at Educapital, Marie-Christine held pivotal positions as the founder and CEO of prominent French internet and media enterprises, including her founding role at Lycos and her tenure as CEO of T-Online France. Leveraging her rich entrepreneurial background, she transitioned into venture capitalism to mentor and support emerging CEOs. She played a crucial role in establishing Jaina Capital, a pioneering entrepreneur fund in France focused on early-stage startup investments.

Driven by her conviction in the imperative need for innovation-driven transformation within the education sector, Marie-Christine, alongside her partner Litzie Maarek, founded Educapital in 2017.
