The company is present in and exports forest products, pulp, paper, tissue, and paper products to more than 50 countries globally. CMPC currently has more than 20,000 direct employees, distributed in 44 industrial mills with operations in 8 countries in Latin America: Chile (Headquarters), Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. Perpetual recently supported their client CMPC in executing their ‘Commercial Summit’ in Santa Cruz, Chile. In advance of the meeting, the commercial team had completed the Perpetual t3® diagnostic survey to measure their organizational health and identify opportunity areas for improvement.


The focus of the commercial team coming together was to put in place high-performing team behaviors to enable the successful execution of the Commercial strategy. The objectives set for Perpetual were to understand where the Commercial team is on its high-performance journey, explore moving from strategy to execution, and understand what it will take for the team to get to the next level of performance. The team also aimed to better empower/delegate, embed learning through experiential application of the learning, learn more about each other through trust and collaboration, and have some fun.


Perpetual facilitated a high-performing team experience to improve the team’s collective professional development and colleague-to colleague feedback in order to accelerate individual growth. Via experiential learning and using case studies to explore key themes, the Perpetual team was able to rapidly create a safe space for the most impactful conversations. The CMPC team reviewed their strategy and discussed its implications, celebrated team success and facilitated accelerated knowledge sharing across the team. As a global business, they got to know each other better – professionally and socially via a variety of interactive events and team-building challenges.


The t3® Diagnostic results highlighted mission-critical opportunity areas that needed attention to ensure the team can fulfill its potential and accelerate its performance and Perpetual’s facilitation helped the team put in place high-performing team behaviors, that will enable to continued successful execution of the Commercial strategy. The team emerged with closer personal connections that built higher levels of trust, better alignment with the strategic intent of the business and highly energized to put the customer at the center of everything the company does. The summit was a success, and the team’s hospitality was second to none.
